Mattia’s Falafel Patties

The first recipe I ever came up with! These are a super easy version of falafel, but without any soaking or deep frying.

250gcanned chickpeas
2garlic cloves
1onion

½ cupcilantro
1 Tbspcumin
½ Tbspsmoked paprika
salt
2 Tbspolive oil

Instructions
Step 1
Start by chopping the onion, garlic and cilantro.
Step 2
In a pan with 1tbsp of olive oil, sweat the onion on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes. After that time has passed, add the cumin, paprika, garlic and rinsed chickpeas. Cook for 5-7 minutes after adding a pinch of salt until the water has almost fully cooked out
Step 3
Transfer to a bowl and add cilantro. Mix with an immersion blender until pasty. (Optionally, just transfer to a blender)
Step 4
Form patties about 3cm in diameter with your hands and cook in the same oiled pan on both sides.
Step 5
Serve in pita bread with vegetables and sauce and enjoy!
