Instructions
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg yolks, orange zest, nutmeg, vanilla and brandy. Mix well. Gradually add flour until mixture becomes a workable dough.
Step 2
Roll out dough about 1/8" thick and cut shapes with cookie cutter. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. (It is easier to lift cookies with a thin spatula rather than pull up with your fingers)
Step 3
Brush with beaten egg white.
Step 4
If desired sprinkle with colored sugar.
Note: the number of cookies you get depends on how thin you roll out dough and the size of your cutters. 40 cookiesis approximate.
Step 5
Bake at 350 until slightly browned, about 20 minutes
