BBQ Baby Back Ribs

From a Crockpot cookbook that came with my casserole slow cooker. Use any spice mix that appeals to you. BBQ sauce is optional. I like to cut into 2-3 rib portions before cooking, but you can cook the ribs without cutting at all (or just cutting them in half if they are too long for your cooker). This was well done but held together better when cooked 4 - 4 1/4 hours on high, then rested.

Instructions

Step 1
Mix spice rub ingredients. Sprinkle on all surfaces of ribs.
Step 2
Place ribs in the removable stoneware of the Casserole Crock, arranging them so the lid will be able to close completely. (Note that it is not necessary to add water or sauce. The ribs will still turn out tender and delicious).
Step 3
Cover; cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours or on HIGH for 5 to 6 hours (4 - 4 1/4 worked better for me), or until ribs are tender. Serve or brush ribs with barbecue sauce.
