Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumpling soup

Instructions

Step 1
In large skillet melt butter over medium heat and add your celery, carrots, and garlic. Cook until softened for 12 minutes.
Step 2
Sprinkle the 2 tbsp of flour over veggies and cook while stirring 2 minutes.
Step 3
Transfer to slow cooker add 7 cups broth, chicken, bay leaves and pepper to taste.
Step 4
Cover and cook 4 hours on high or 8 on low.
Step 5
Remove chicken and shred, then return to slow cooker. Discard Bay leaves. Cover and set to high
Step 6
In a mixing bowl combine remaining flours,baking powder, Chives, salt and pepper.
Step 7
Beat egg yolk and chicken broth together. Then add to flour mix. Mix until just blended (should be thick dough).
Step 8
Drop in small teaspoonfuls into soup. Cover and cook 30-40 minutes. Dumplings will float and expand when done.
