Instructions
Step 1
Grease a 8x8 pan and set it inside a 13x9 baking pan. Preheat oven to 350.
Step 2
In a heat resistant bowl, microwave the milk until it reaches 180 degrees (took me about 5 minutes).
Step 3
Add cereal to the hot milk. Let soak while you work on the next step.
Step 4
Whisk together eggs, vanilla and cinnamon until fully combined. Add in sugar and whip until slightly frothy.
Step 5
Slowly add in the hot cereal/milk to the eggs while whisking constantly. Be super slow here. If you pour too fast you will cook the eggs.
Step 6
Pour custard into the small dish. Fill the larger pan with hot water about 3/4 of the way up. Bake for 30 minutes.
Step 7
Mix together all topping ingredients.
Step 8
At the 30 minute mark, add the topping evenly onto your custard. Let bake for another 20-25 minutes. When you can insert a knife into the center and it comes out clean, it’s done. Or when it reaches 175 degrees.
Step 9
Cool completely before serving.
