rigatoni pasta

olive oil

1onion
medium, chopped

1yellow bell pepper
or red, capsicum

1 lbhot italian sausage
remove casings

2cloves garlic
minced

1 x 14.5 ozcan diced tomatoes
undrained

1 x 8 ozcan of tomato sauce

1 tablespoontomato paste

½ tspdried basil
or fresh basil to taste

½ tspsalt

½ tspred pepper flakes

black pepper
to taste

½ cupheavy cream
or half and half

½ cupgrated parmesan cheese
Instructions
Step 1
1. Heat olive oil in a large pan. Cook onion and capsicum until they start to soften. Add sausage, breaking/chopping it into pieces as it cooks with spatula. 2. When sausage is no longer pink, add garlic and cook a few minutes. Drain off any excess fat. 3. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Simmer until thickened, about 15 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions and drain.
5. Add cream and simmer another 5 minutes. Turn heat to low and stir in parmesan.
6. Add pasta sauce until you achieve desired ratio.
