Preparation
Step 1
Slice the mushrooms, remove the seeds and core from the peppers and cut into fine pieces. Peel the shallots and fine chop. In the slow cooker pot first place the chopped tomatoes then the mushrooms followed by the peppers and then the shallots.
Pork chops
Step 2
Wash the chops and trim any excess fat then place in the slow cooker pot
Adding the flavourings
Step 3
Add 1 Tbsp Italian herbs, 1 Tbsp Garlic paste, 1 Tbsp Worcester sauce, 2 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp Black pepper and salt to taste
Passata Sauce
Step 4
Pour over 500ml Passata sauce, rinse the carton with 100ml water and pour in.
Cooking
Step 5
You can vary the cooking time to suit your routine but the minimum needs to be 5 hours on a high setting. Remove the cover for the last half hour to help thicken the sauce. Taste and add additional seasoning if required.
Serving
Step 6
We served with mash potato and Broccoli, but this could easily be served with rice, chips or pasta.
