Instructions

Step 1
Utensils Needed: large glass bowl, whisk, cupcake pans, large wooden board
Step 2
Dissolve yeast in 2 cup lukewarm water in a large glass bowl.  Use whisk to dissolve,

Add 2 tsp salt, 6 tbsp sugar, 1 egg and stir.  Add melted shortening and stir
Step 4
Add 6 cups sifted flour a little at a time beating well after each addition
Step 5
When dough is stiff enough to kneed put on floured board.
Step 6
Kneed good, add a little flour if dough is still too wet kneading good, then put in greased glass bowl.
Step 7
Cover lightly with cloth and let stand in a warm place to rise,  About 2 hrs.
Step 8
Put dough back on floured board and kneed again.
Step 9
Roll small balls and put in well greased cupcake pans.  Two balls if pans are small.  Three if pans are large  You will need to keep putting flour on your hands to keep dough from sticking to them.

If you have more dough than you need for the rolls put remainder in a meatloaf pan for a loaf of bread,

Cover lightly and let stand in warm place till triple in size.  About 2 hours

Preheat oven and cook at 425 degrees for about 12 to 15 minutes.  Until a nice golden brown,

Remove from oven an using a stick of butter rub on top of rolls
Step 14
If you are doing a loaf of bread turn oven down to 400 and cook for about 30 minutes.  Keep and eye on it so it doesn't get too brown.
