Step 1
1. Combine all ingredients into a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until the onion is tender, 15 to 20 minutes

2. Transfer the mixture to a blender

3. Remove the top center of the blender to allow heat to escape and blend until a semi puree consistency
