1brown onion
3garlic cloves
minced
1bay leaf
¼ tspdried thyme
¼ tsporegano
3 Tbsptomato paste
⅓ cupwater
400gcrushed tomatoes
2beef stock cubes
3 tspwhite sugar
½ tspcooking salt
¼ tspblack pepper

Sauce
Step 1
Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat
Step 2
Add onion, garlic, bay leaf, thyme and oregano. Cook for 3-4 minutes
Step 3
Add tomato paste and stir for 1 minute
Step 4
Stir in water, increase heat to high and simmer for about 2 minutes
Step 5
Add tomatoes, stock, sugar, salt and pepper. Stir and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 20 minutes
Meatballs
Step 6
Preheat oven for 200°C fan-forced
Step 7
Mix all meatball ingredients together into a bowl
Step 8
Roll 2 tablespoons into 3.5cm balls and place onto cooking tray
Step 9
Bake for 15 minutes
Bake in Sauce
Step 10
Remove the meatballs from the oven, lower temperatures to 160°C fan-forced
Step 11
Pour sauce into baking dish and place meatballs in sauce
Step 12
Sprinkle with mozzarella, then place in oven for 25 minutes
Serve
Step 13
Cook pasta and vegetables
Step 14
Serve meal
