Gould Family Chicken Supreme Recipe
6 steps
Prep:20minCook:2h
This recipe was originally created by my Nannie, but has since evolved through my Mum and now me. When I was younger, I always looked forward to having this for dinner and to this day remains as my comfort food.
I like to add boiled broccoli to my sauce, but you can remove it if you want. Spinach is also a great substitute for broccoli instead.
Bacon can be added if you like to the sauce, but makes it a bit too salty. Also for the rice base, long grain rice or jasmine rice can be used, but personally I prefer jasmine rice.
This recipe can also be done in the oven, but for ease I use the slow cooker.

Instructions
Step 1
Pour a tin of Heniz Cream of Chicken, Heinz Cream of Mushroom, and Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup into the slow cooker.
Step 2
Cut up the mushrooms in half and onions into fine slices and place in the frying pan. Continue frying in oil until the mushrooms and onions become golden in colour. Once finished place into the slow cooker.
Step 3
Cut up the chicken breast and fry in the frying pan until fully cooked (can also be cooked in the oven). Once finished, place into the slow cooker.
Step 4
Let the ingredients simmer in the slow cooker for a minimum of 2 hours.
Step 5
Warm up the jasmine rice in the microwave prior to serving. Boiled rice can be used, but for convenience use microwaveable rice.
Step 6
Put the rice on the plate first, and then put the chicken sauce over the rice. Ketchup must be added to the side - although is technically optional, it is the law in my family.
