Instructions
Step 1
Sprinkle slices with salt, sugar and paprika and let them sit for at least 15 minutes
Step 2
Fill pot with enough water to cover the slices and bring to a boil
Step 3
Add onion, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 tbsp salt, paprika, white pepper and slices and bring to a boil
Step 4
Cook on low for 45 minutes.
Step 5
Allow to cool before transferring
Tips:
Step 6
To cool slices quickly, fill sink with cold water and sit pot into it for 10-15 minutes
Step 7
Transfer fish using disposable gloves
