Instructions

Step 1
Blend the sauce. Set aside.
Step 2
In a large skillet, heat on high and drizzle in a little neutral oil.

Add the pork belly to the skillet and cook until the pork takes on color.
Step 4
Remove some of the excess fat by absorbing it with a kitchen towel.
Step 5
If you prefer softer and tender shogayaki, add the sauce when the pork has slightly cooked. If you prefer having more of a bite, cook the pork until golden brown, and then add the sauce.
Step 6
Simmer on low heat until the sauce has reduced down. If the sauce is reduced too much, feel free to add more water.
Step 7
Enjoy with thinly sliced cabbage and rice!
