Ingredients

700gTurnips
1onion
blended
2tomatoes
blended
1 Tbspginger paste
1 Tbspgarlic paste
6green chillies
blended
1 tspsalt
1 tspred chilli powder
½ tspturmeric powder
½ tspcumin powder
2 tspcoriander powder
1 tspwhole cumin seeds
1 cupwater
2 Tbsplemon juice
2 Tbspfenugreek leaves

½ tspred chilli flakes
½ tspgaram masala
Instructions
Step 1
Blend onion into a paste and fry in some oil until it changes colour then add ginger and garlic pastes
Step 2
Blend tomatoes and green chillies into a paste and add to the onion mix. Add the dry spices (salt, turmeric, red chilli, cumin and coriander powder) and fry for a couple mins until it leaves oil
Step 3
Peel and chop the turnips, rinse with cold water and add to the masala. Fry on high heat for a couple mins.
Step 4
Add some water, bring it boil then cover and cook on medium heat for 20-25mins until turnip is tender.
Step 5
Mash it up roughly with a spoon.
Step 6
Add lemon juice, coriander, red chilli flakes, fenugreek leaves, garam masala & a few green chillies.
Step 7
Mix and cover and cook on low heat for 4-5mins. Turn flame high and dry the water if needed.
Step 8
Serve with roti or rice
