Hawaiian Inspired Garlic Shrimp

Coming back from Hawaii gave me a lot of great poke’ and garlic shrimp ideas. Here is one of them. Its a lemony garlic butter shrimp with a slight kick from the paprika. I am also coming up with a spicy one after trying Jenny’s shrimp truck.

Instructions

Step 1
Butterfly shrimp and remove the digestive tract
Step 2
Evenly coat shrimp with corn starch, paprika, salt and pepper
Step 3
Deep fry shrimp in oil for approximately 45 seconds
Step 4
Set shrimp aside on paper towels to dry off excess oil
Step 5
In a pan, melt butter
Step 6
Add garlic and sauté until light blonde
Step 7
Pour in the spice blend consisting of the above mentioned spices
Step 8
Add in the shrimp and squeeze half a lemon
Step 9
Turn off heat and incorporate ingredients quickly
Step 10
Garnish with minced cilantro
