Step 1
In a saucepan, combine dashi broth, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Step 2
Add dried anchovies to the broth and let them simmer for 5-7 minutes. Remove and discard the anchovies.
Step 3
Add sardines to the simmering broth and let them heat through for about 2 minutes.
Step 4
Place the cooked rice in a bowl.
Step 5
Pour the sardine and broth mixture over the rice.
Step 6
Sprinkle torn nori pieces and chopped green onions on top.
Step 7
Serve hot.
