For a richer flavor, add a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce to the meatball mixture.

If you don't have bread crumbs, you can crush up crackers or cereal instead.

To make the meatballs gluten-free, use gluten-free bread crumbs and oats.

Serve the meatballs with your favorite sauce, such as marinara sauce, spaghetti sauce, or barbecue sauce.

Variations:

Add other vegetables to the meatball mixture, such as mushrooms, carrots, or zucchini.

Use different types of beans instead of lentils, such as black beans, chickpeas, or kidney beans.
