Lentil Soup

Easy to cook lentil soup, can use ham hock instead of bacon bones. I used a ham hock in the picture and cut off any meat from the hock. You can also cook it in a slow cooker for 4 -6 hours.

Instructions

Step 1
1. Peel and chop onion and carrot, chop celery. 2. Heat butter and oil in pan, add onion, celery and carrot, cook stirring until onion is transparent. 3. Add bacon bones, lentils, undrained tomatoes, water and crumbled stock cubes. 4. Cover and bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer covered for 1 1/2 hours
