Sizzling Beef Stir-Fry Secrets | No wok needed
12 steps
Prep:40minCook:10min
Who does not like stir-fry? Tender beef and crisp vegetables with a perfectly balanced sauce—no one can resist! The best part is how versatile it can be. You can add beef, chicken, pork, or lots of mushrooms to make it meatless. And, being honest, you can vary the recipe by adjusting your dish to whatever you have in the fridge. Today, I'll show you my husband's favorite recipe for Beef Stir Fry; this one is a keeper. I've been making this recipe forever, but I want to acknowledge that it's perfect now, thanks to following advice from Bill at The Woks of Life on how to cut and marinate my beef, a very important step in this recipe.

Instructions
Step 1
Follow my video for visual instructions!
Step 2
Cut your beef. If the flank is too thick, divide the flank piece lengthwise into 2 so you have bite-size slices of meat. Once ready, start slicing, keeping the knife at about a 45° angle to make the slices larger and wider. Each slice should be about 1/4″ thick. Follow these instructions and change your stir-fry life forever. Thank you, Bill!
Step 3
Add the sliced beef to a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of avocado oil, ¼ teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon of water, giving your beef a good coating. Set aside for at least 30 min.
Step 4
Prepare the sauce by mixing all the ingredients and set aside.
Step 5
I cook this recipe 1 minute at a time, so it's essential to have everything ready before heating the stove. Mince your garlic and ginger, wash and cut your mushrooms into quarters lengthwise, trim and wash your broccoli, wash the sugar peas, and cut your baby corn in half or quarters lengthwise.
Step 6
Heat your medium-sized pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of oil. Add the beef, cook for 1 min on each side, then set aside.
Step 7
In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil and sauté your garlic along with the ginger for a minute.
Step 8
Add the mushrooms and cook for one minute. Add 2 tablespoons of red wine and cook for another minute.
Step 9
Add the broccoli, sugar peas, baby corn, salt, and pepper to taste, and let them cook for 1 more minute.
Step 10
Add the beef and the sauce, and let them simmer for 2 more minutes until the sauce thickens a little and everything is flavored.
Step 11
Serve immediately; white rice is a great side for this dish, along with a quick salad.
Step 12
Enjoy!
