Taco Bell pintos and cheese from scratch

After cooked: 1gal bag comfertablely fits 2.5lbs of dry beans. Will fit 3lbs, but it's a really tight fit. If you're using the crock pot, it doesn't matter if you are cooking 1lb or 5lbs of dried beans. 7.5 hours is the time. (5.5 hours is the *VERY least amount of time you can cook them, but you'd have to be in some kind of emergency. 7.5 hours is the time) Dry beans on the stove: Put everything in a pot on a simmer for 2 hours. Immersion blend it when it's done until it's smooth. Done. 10QT crock pot: 5lbs (5lbs is the MAX that will fit), 'low' for 7.5 then immersion blend. (Don't worry about soaking the beans) Rice cooker: choose the longest cycle (usually brown rice). Should take like 1H30M.
