This is a recipe my grandmother came up with. It's similar to other taco soup recipes but with almost no prep time!

Instructions

Step 1
Dice the onion to preferred size. Be careful not to dice too finely.

Add the onions and ground beef to the soup pot. Brown the beef while mixing in half of the taco seasoning, along with 1/4 teaspoon each of garlic salt, salt, and pepper (or adjust to taste). For an extra kick, you can optionally add a pinch of chili powder.

Step 3
Add the 2 cans of Rotel to the beef and onions, then simmer for 3-5 minutes

Step 4
Stir in the remaining canned ingredients. Using one of the larger cans, add 1–2 cans of water to ensure the ingredients are fully covered with liquid. Add the remaining seasoning packet and powdered ranch dressing. Stir gently until everything is well combined then reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 30–45 minutes.
