Instructions

Step 1
Start by peeling the cucumber, then slice it in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
Step 2
Grate the cucumber and put in a mesh strainer. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and let it sit for 10 minutes to drain out any excess water.

In the meantime, mix Greek yogurt, grated garlic, chopped dill, lemon juice, and olive oil in a large bowl until well combined.
Step 4
Press down the cucumber in the strainer to make sure all water has been drained out. Then add it to the yogurt mixture.
Step 5
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix the tzatziki sauce well until all ingredients are incorporated.
Step 6
Cover and refrigerate the tzatziki sauce for at least 2 hours before serving for the flavors to meld together.
