A good Gluten Free and Soy Free version of Cottage Pie. Note that Cottage Pie usually uses Minced Beef, whereas Shepherd's Pie usually uses Lamb.

Instructions
Step 1
Heat Oven to 350℉

Step 2
Set water to boil in a large stockpot


Step 3
Peel and cut potatoes, set aside



Step 4
Heat Grapeseed Oil in a large skillet on medium-high



Step 5
Brown hamburger, mincing (chopping finely) with a metal spatula



Step 6
When water is boiling, add potatoes and cook on high until easily pierced with a fork, stirring occasionally
Step 7
When hamburger is minced and cooked thoroughly, drain off fat

Step 8
Add Beef Broth and sprinkle heavily with Worcester Sauce. Bring to a boil


Step 9
Stir in bay leaves, tomato paste, salt and pepper (to taste)





Step 10
Keep boiling and reduce liquid by about half, stirring frequently
Step 11
When potatoes are done, drain liquid and mash potatoes, adding butter and half-and-half to taste and texture.





Step 12
When meat is ready, line the bottom of a 13x9 cake pan or lasagna pan with about half the meat.

Step 13
Place canned vegetables (Carrots, Peas, Mushrooms) on top of meat. Cover with rest of meat.




Step 14
Top with mashed potatoes, then cover with shredded Sharp Cheddar to taste


Step 15
Place in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly

Step 16
Optionally, peak the mashed potatoes before adding cheese, then after oven heating, turn on broiler and brown top of Cottage Pie.
