Super Easy Creamy Tomato Pasta

This Creamy Tomato Pasta is not only delicious but so simple to make. If I ask my boys what should I make, 90% of the time they will request a pasta dish, this one is one of my go-tos because of how simple it is. You can always add chicken for protein and I always serve it with a side salad.

Instructions

Step 1
1. Dice an onion and mince 4 cloves of garlic.
Step 2
2. Boil your favorite pasta in salted water according to the instructions on the package. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before straining.
Step 3
3. Put a pan on medium-high heat. Add in butter and oil, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant for about 2 minutes.
Step 4
4. Next add in the tomato paste and cook for about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the chili flakes, then pour in the heavy cream. Stir well, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened.
Step 5
5. Add in the cooked pasta along with grated Parmesan cheese and the reserved pasta water. Toss well until the cheese melts and the pasta is covered in the delicious pasta sauce. Lastly toss in some fresh basil.
Step 6
6. Serve immediately with more grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil on top and enjoy!
