Step 1
Rinse the seaweed stems three times, then place them in cold water and bring to a boil. Once it starts boiling, cook for 3 more minutes. After 3 minutes, rinse under cold water, drain, and cut into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
Stir-fry garlic – Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add ½ tbsp minced garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant.
Step 3
Cook seaweed – Add seaweed stems and stir-fry for 23 minutes.
Step 4
Add sliced onion and carrot, 1 tbsp tuna fish sauce, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp mirim, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and 1 tbsp sesame seeds. Stir-fry for 1 more minute. Soft, savory, and nutritious stir-fried seaweed stems are ready!
