7 steps
Prep:10minCook:8min
There’s nothing more comforting than a hearty plate of gammon, egg and chips, a true British classic. Cooking it in the air fryer makes it quicker, lighter and fuss-free, while still delivering all the flavour you’d expect from a proper pub favourite.

Instructions
Step 1
If using fresh potatoes: cut into chips, toss in 1 tsp oil and season with salt.
Step 2
Place into the air fryer basket at 200°C and cook for 18–20 minutes, shaking halfway. If using frozen chips, follow the packet’s timings (usually 15–18 minutes at 200°C).
Step 3
Once the chips are about halfway done, place the gammon steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Step 4
Cook at 200°C for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and slightly crisp at the edges.
Step 5
While the gammon cooks, boil or steam the peas for 2–3 minutes until tender. Drain and season with salt, pepper, and a knob of butter if you like.
Step 6
Heat a non-stick pan with a little oil or butter. Crack in the eggs and fry until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, or to your liking.
Step 7
Plate the gammon steaks with a fried egg on top, add a portion of golden chips and a scoop of peas on the side.
