Instructions

Step 1
Mix the rice flour, salt, and turmeric powder together.

Add the water and beer, and stir well until the mixture is smooth.

Chop the green onions finely and add them to the batter with a little cooking oil.

Let the batter rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Slice the beef or pork thinly. Marinate with a little salt, minced ginger, black pepper, and cooking oil.

Trim the shrimp, wash them, and marinate with seasonings, dried onion, and a little chopped ginger.

Slice the onion and wash the bean sprouts. Keep them separate.

After preparing the ingredients, sauté the filling.

Heat a pan with a little oil. Sauté the sliced onions until fragrant, then add a little seasoning.

Add the shrimp and sauté. When the shrimp is almost cooked, add the beef. Stir briefly and then remove the filling from the

Make the Pancake:

Heat a bánh xèo pan (about 10-15 cm in diameter) with cooking oil until very hot. Pour a thin, even layer of batter around the pan. Cover with a lid for about half a minute. Add the cooked filling, onions, and bean sprouts on top of the pancake. Continue to cover for another 2 minutes. Open the lid and fold the pancake in half. Wait until the pancake is golden and crispy on both sides, then slide it out. Repeat until all the batter and filling are used.

Make the dipping sauce

First, blanch the chili , and remove the seeds from the chili. Subsequently, blend the chili until a smooth consistency is achieved. Prepare a solution by combining 5 parts water with 2 parts sugar and 1.5 parts fish sauce, and bring to a boil to dissolve the sugar. Incorporate tamarind paste to impart a sour flavor, and adjust the taste as desired. Finally, add the minced chili and minced garlic.
