Instructions

Step 1
In a heavy-bottomed pot, sauté the bacon in oil until the fat renders. Add the onion and cook until translucent. Then add the carrots and garlic, and sauté together for another 2–3 minutes.
Step 2
Add the ground beef to the pot. Stir constantly until it turns white and browns slightly. Spoon in the 150 g of tomato puree and sauté everything together for 1–2 minutes so the puree loses its raw taste.
Step 3
Pour the 500 ml of passata over the meat. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, basil, sugar, and cinnamon. Stir well. Turn the heat to the lowest setting, cover the pot, and simmer over low heat for 2 hours. Stir occasionally to prevent it from burning on the bottom.
