Ingredients

1 cupdaal
2 cupswater
cold
1onion
small, blended
1green chillies
blended
butter

0.5 blockfrozen garlic clove
0.5frozen ginger cube
2 tablespoonschopped tomatoes
2 teaspoonssalt
½ teaspoongaram masala
½ teaspoontumeric powder
Instructions
Step 1
Put a saucepan on high heat and add the water and daal - keep the lid off
Step 2
Add the tumeric but do not stir
Step 3
Leave to cook. If it starts rising turn the temperature down (add boiling water if it’s drying up and burning)
Step 4
When it’s mushy it’s cooking. Use a whisk to stir slowly clockwise.
Step 5
While the daal cooks melt the butter in another saucepan then add the ginger and garlic. Cook for a minute until all softened then add the onions
Step 6
When the onions have browned (2mins) add the chopped tomato, salt and garam masala. Keep stiring and simmer for 10mins.
Step 7
Add the mixture to the daal and mix together. Add coriander to finish off 👌🏽
