Green Beans with Sesame Crumble

This recipe takes green beans to level of deliciousness. We always get rave reviews when we serve it, and best of all it is easy to make! You may have a little extra Sesame Crumble, which is good on anything from brown rice to broccoli.

Instructions

Step 1
1. Make the Sesame Crumble: In a small pan over medium heat, toast the sesame seeds, stirring until they begin to brown and become fragrant. They brown easily, so don't leave them alone. Place the toasted sesame seeds in a coffee grinder (first choice) or a small blender and grind until they just begin to break down and become incredibly fragrant. Careful not to over blend (if that happens, they will still be good but not crumbly). In a small bowl, combine the ground sesame seeds with the tamari and maple syrup.
Step 2
2. In a medium pot, cover the green beans with water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and cook about 6 minutes, or until the beans are tender, then drain.
Step 3
3. Stir in the Sesame Crumble and serve triumphantly!
