Ingredients
2 servings
1white onion
large, cut in wedges
1 cupchicken stock
3 tblspncaster sugar
½ cupcooking sake
½ cupmirin
½ cupsoy sauce
3 cmginger
piece, grated
500 gmfillet steak
very thinly sliced
To Serve:
Instructions
Step 1
Place onions and stock in a pan. Bring to boil then reduce heat & simmer for 5 minutes, until onions slightly softened.
Step 2
Stir in sugar, sake, mirin, soy and ginger and simmer for 3 minutes. Drop in sliced beef and simmer for 1 minute.
Step 3
Place rice into 4 serving bowls. Top with wilted greens & some beef & onions, then ladle over some broth. Scatter with spring onions & serve.
