Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe

There is no cure for the common cold or the flu, but there are many different home remedies that will help your immune system fight through it. I am big on home remedies. I realized their healing properties when I had this sore throat once, I gargled with cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper and my throat was much better within a few days. Since then, I have tried many different home remedies for various reasons. Today I will share with you this recipe for a soup that includes different herbs and spices that have healing properties that can help boost your immune system to help it fight off a cold or the flu. This soup contains garlic, turmeric, onions, thyme, and Rosemary amongst many others.

Instructions

Step 1
In a large pot add your chicken. Cover with water. Season with 1 tsp of onion powder, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, 1 tablespoon of chicken bouillon, and 3 bay leaves.
Step 2
Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium-high heat. Allow cooking for an hour, until the chicken is done once the chicken is cooked. Remove from broth and remove the chicken from the bone. Allow broth to continue cooking.
Step 3
In a pot, add 1 tablespoon of oil and allow to heat. Add diced onions, chopped carrots, and minced garlic and allow to sauté. Season with ¼ teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper. Add in cooked chicken. Season with 2 teaspoons of chicken bouillon powder, garlic powder, onion powder, ¼ teaspoon of turmeric, ginger, thyme, salt, black pepper, and rosemary. Add green beans and corn.
Step 4
Add in chicken broth, and 6 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add your noodles and allow them to cook according to the package directions. About 5-7 minutes. Then serve. You can add more salt according to your taste if it's not salty enough.

If you want your soup creamy, replace 1 cup of water or chicken broth with heavy cream when you add in liquids.
Step 7
If you want your broth thick, in a small bowl make a slurry, by adding 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and 1 cup of water or broth and mix. Don’t use any extra water or broth take ½ cup of the chicken stock that the recipe requires and mix with the flour and add it.
Step 8
So, for example, instead of 2 cups of chicken stock, you will add 1 and ½ cups of chicken stock and use the other ½ to add to the flour to make your slurry.
