Creamy Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Growing up for every family gathering I was in charge of making the Macaroni and Cheese. I got so tired of making that I developed a love hate relationship with it. Over the years I have tried it many different ways of making it and I can tell you, the way grandma taught me is still the best hands down. Although her recipe only consisted of salt and pepper as the seasonings used, I’ve slightly change that because I prefer more flavor on my noodles. Below I will not provide measurements for anything because I learned by “using my own judgment” as grandma would say.

Ingredients

2 lbsElbow Noodles
Seasoning salt
to taste, I sprinkle enough to see it on the noodles
black pepper
to taste
garlic powder
to taste
onion powder
to taste
paprika
½ teaspoonAccent
optional
3eggs
1 cupmilk
3 heaping tablespoonsMayo
or enough to make sure every noodle is covered
32 ozextra sharp cheddar cheese
in block form It tastes better when you shred it yourself
Instructions
Step 1
Boil your noodles according to the package directions. Make sure to salt your water. And add a little oil so the noodles don’t stick together.
Step 2
While your noodles are boiling shred your cheese.
Step 3
Drain noodles and store in Mayo. Make sure to cover every noodle with Mayo but don’t over saturate. Season with seasoning salt, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper and accent (optional). Use your own judgment when it comes to seasoning. Add a little at a time, tasting along the way until you reach your desired taste. In a separate boil mix together eggs and mix and pour over noodles.
Step 4
Separate your cheese into two bowl. Save about 8 oz for the top.
Step 5
And mix the rest of your cheese inside your noodles. Mix well and top with remaining cheese.
Step 6
Sprinkle with paprika, seasoning salt, and black pepper.
Step 7
Bake in the oven for at least 45-60 minutes if you like it creamy, just keep checking on it to see if the cheese has melted and is bubbling. I prefer my top crunchy and and my Mac and cheese with crispy edges so bake for an additional 30 minutes to achieve that.
