Apple Pie

Ingredients

6apples
medium to large size
1/2 cup sugar
½ cupsugar
3 Tablespoons flour
3 tablespoonsflour
2 -3 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoonscinnamon
1 teaspoonnutmeg
4 tablespoonsbutter
or margarine, not melted
3 T. milk or 1 egg

Instructions

Step 1
Peel apples and cut up into medium sized chunks.
Step 2
Add sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg to apples. Mix well.
Step 3
Place bottom crust in a pie plate.
Step 4
Place apple mixture on top of crust.
Step 5
Scatter butter or margarine over the top of the apples.
Step 6
Place top crust over apples. Fold the edges of the two crusts together and 'flute' with your fingers.
Step 7
Brush milk lightly onto the top crust OR beat an egg and brush the egg onto the top crust.
Step 8
Sprinkle sugar on top of the crust.
Step 9
Cover only the pie edges with aluminum foil. Bake at 425 degrees F for 15 minutes or so (until the center of the pie begins to brown).
Step 10
Remove the aluminum foil, lower the temperature to 375 degrees F and bake for an additional 30-40 minutes or so until a beautiful golden brown!
Step 11
Serve with vanilla ice cream
