Step 1
Put the frozen summer fruits, orange juice, cinnamon stick, star anise and honey in a small pan and place over a medium heat. When it starts to bubble, reduce the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, using a wooden spoon to stir, until the liquid is reduced and slightly sticky.
Step 2
Meanwhile, put the porridge oats on a large pan. Add milk and water, stir well, then put over a medium heat and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously, until thick and creamy.
Step 3
Discard the cinnamon stick and star anise and serve the compote with the porridge.
