Oyster Chowder

Instructions

Step 1
Prepare a large crop pot for use and set to low
Step 2
Add 2 boxes of vegetable stock to crock pot
Step 3
Add a 1/2 carton of half and half to crock pot
Step 4
Pour the 2 cans of oysters into the crock pot with a little bit of the juice.
Step 5
Wash fresh French Sorrel Herb and cut into small squares. Add the Sorrel to crock pot.
Step 6
Fry the 8 pieces of bacon in a skillet and set the grease aside to fry the potatoes.
Step 7
Cut bacon up and put it into the crock pot.
Step 8
While frying the bacon boil the 8 potatoes for 12 minutes till fork poke soft.
Step 9
Dice 1/2 an onion and Sautee in skillet with the chef shamy butter mixture until translucent.
Step 10
Add to skillet the minced garlic, corn, and seasonings (salt and pepper to taste, paprika, brown mustard seeds, and 4 strands of saffron). Sautée until corn has some blacked spots on it like it's roasted.
Step 11
Pour the sautéed mixture into the crock pot.
Step 12
Cut the potatoes into cubes and shake in a bag with some cornstarch and McCormicks grill mates Montréal steak seasoning.
Step 13
Add reserved bacon grease to skillet and fry up the potatoes till crusted and browned.
Step 14
Add potatoes to crock pot and cook on high heat for 1 to 2 hours.
