In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef; drain fat.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, onion, milk, salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4
Alternately layer the potatoes, soup mixture and meat in a 11x7 inch (2 quart) baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until potatoes are tender. Top with Cheddar cheese, and continue baking until cheese is melted.

I used diced potatoes, ground turkey and added a little more seasoning and it was delicious.

Very tasty... and so easy! I did add garlic powder to the ground beef, right at the end. That added just the right amount of flavor that we love. I also subbed cream of chicken for the mushroom soup...not a fan of fungi 🙂. It turned out really great...the kid and the big daddy kid both loved...I call that a win!
