Turkey Dumplings Soup

Save the Turkey carcass\bones and use the leftover Turkey meat for this comforting soup that will be perfect for the day after Thanksgiving 🍲

Instructions

Making the Dumplings

Step 1
In a shallow dish or mixing bowl, add all dumplings ingredients above together, stir until combined

Flour working surface, transfer dough

Work the dough until it’s throughly combined & smooth

Roll dough out to desired thickness
Step 5
Cut into desired square shape
Step 6
Place on a baking tray, sprinkle flour

Cover, set aside

Making the soup

Step 8
In a medium size pot (5 Qt) on med-high heat

Add Oil & Butter
Step 10
Onion, sauté for a couple minutes

Celery & mixed Vegetables, sauté for a couple minutes

Remove & set aside

Add Turkey Bones & Water

Bring to a simmer, reduced heat to low

Cover with lid, let simmer for about one hour

Remove lid & Turkey bones
Step 17
Remove Turkey meat if any on bones before discarding the bones

Shred Turkey meat & use some leftover meat (about 3 cups)

To the soup add:

Bay Leaves, Thymes, & Parsley Flakes

Add Soup Seasoning

Sautéed Vegetables

Shredded Turkey Meat

Ladle & reserve 1/2 cup soup broth to cool thèm mix 1/4 cup Cornstarch to it

Slowly add in Dumplings, stir occasionally so it doesn’t stick together

Skim foam

Remove Bay Leaves

Add Cornstarch slurry to thicken soup

Adjust seasoning as needed
