Instructions

Step 1
On a medium heat, melt the butter and add the flour. Stir for 3 minutes until a nicely golden brown. Then slowly add the milk. Keep pouring and stirring until you have a smooth sauce. Add the nutmeg, season with salt & pepper and give it one final mix.
Step 2
Toast your bread, spread over butter, the béchamel and add some grated gruyere. Then top with the ham, more cheese and make sure to spread over some dijon on the top slice. Finally, top with more béchamel, grated gruyere and place under the grill until golden brown and crispy.
