Step 1
In a large pot, add beef, pork sausage, water, bay leaves, black pepper, salt, and cumin. Cook over medium heat until stew beef is tender.

Step 2
Remove beef and run through a grinder until finely ground.
Step 3
Add pinhead oats to pot. Insuring there is plenty of water for the oats, add more if necessary. Cook until oats are thickened.

Add ground beef to pot. Cook for 2 hours, stirring often. Add water if it thickens too soon.
Step 5
Butter 4 loaf pans. Pour goetta into loaf pans and place into the refrigerator to cool over night.
