Ingredients
4 servings
5potatoes
medium sized, maris piper, boiled
1 tspsesame seeds
½ tspcumin seeds
5cloves of garlic
chopped
1onion
sliced
3green chillis
chopped
1 ½ Tbsplemon juice
peanuts
roughly ground
2 Tbspoil
½ tspturmeric powder
2 Tbspsugar
salt
to taste
¼ cupwater
1 Tbspinstant mashed potato powder
½ tspblack pepper powder
coriander
to garnish
Instructions
Step 1
Boil the potatoes (I poke them with a fork and cook them in the microwave). Let them cool down and peel the skin off. Roughly cut them into small pieces. Set aside.
Step 2
Heat oil in a wide pan and add cumin seeds and sesame seeds. Let them pop and then add the chopped garlic, sauté for a few seconds.
Step 3
Now add the sliced onions and cook until they soften up.
Step 4
Then add green chillis, salt, sugar, lemon juice, turmeric powder and ground peanuts. Mix well and sauté for a few seconds.
Step 5
Add some water to make a saucy consistency.
Step 6
Now add the potatoes and mix well.
Step 7
Then add the instant mashed potato powder and mix well. Let the potatoes cook for a couple of minutes.
Step 8
Finally sprinkle with black pepper powder and garnish with coriander.
Step 9
Enjoy with chapatis or wraps.
