Ingredients

500gyellow split peas
45gghee
2brown onions
medium, chopped finely
3cloves garlic
crushed
20gfresh ginger
grated
1green chilli
fresh, long, chopped finely
2 Tbspblack mustard seeds
1 tspcumin seeds
1 Tbspground coriander
2 tspground turmeric
1 tspgaram masala
800gdiced tomatoes
canned
2 tspvegetable stock powder
2 cupswater
4silver beet leaves
medium, stems removed, chopped coarsely
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse split peas under cold water until water runs clear; drain
Step 2
Heat ghee in a multi-pot on brown/sauté; cook onion, garlic, ginger and chilli, stirring, until onion softens. Add seeds and spices; cook, stirring, until fragrant.
Step 3
Stir in tomatoes, stock, water, and split peas. Cook under high pressure for 25 minutes.
Step 4
Stir in silver beet and season to taste
