Instructions
Step 1
First preheat pan to low to medium heat and cook bacon, according to package. Once done set aside & Cook shrimp in grease. (You can pour a little out if bacon created too much) season with old bay, garlic powder, & onion powder and cook shrimp on both sides for 2-3 mins each. Or until desired sear.
Step 2
Once shrimp is finished cooking set aside. & immediately add in diced peppers & let cook for 3-5 mins. Once peppers are browned add in green onions , heavy whipping cream and seasonings listed above for sauce with lemon juice. (Can add in more or less seasoning to sauce depending upon your preference) Bring sauce to a simmer for 5-8 mins until it thickens up. Once thickened up add in crumbled bacon.
Step 3
To a boiling pot of chicken broth stir in grits and let cook on low for about 10-15 mins. Constantly stir grits in between and once grits are done cooking, add in heavy whipping cream, butter, and cheddar cheese to get a creamy consistency.
Step 4
Top grits with sauce and garnish with green onions. Can serve with a lemon and ENJOY!
