Step 1
Cut onion and scallion into thin slices. Set aside.


Step 2
Heat large pan over medium high heat. Add dashi, sake, sugar, mirin, and soy sauce.





Step 3
Bring sauce to a boil. Add sliced onions and spread in a single layer. Cover to cook until tender.

Step 4
When onions are tender, add beef and cook until no longer pink.
