Avocado Strawberry Toast with Honey

When choosing this recipe, I wanted to introduce the palate of school age children to mashed avocado. I got mixed opinions from friends and family while deciding, but I went with my gut and it has been a hit. This recipe is easy and quick to make for the working mom & dad moving swiftly to get the family to work and school. Most recipes for avocado toast suggest a drizzle of balsamic, but I thought the honey would make the avocado a bit more desirable.

Step 1

wash hands

Step 2

rinse and pat dry avocado

Step 3

rinse and pat dry strawberries

Step 4

slice strawberries on clean cutting board

Step 5

slice avocado (horizontally & discard seed) on clean cutting board

Step 6

toast bread

Step 7

add avocado to bowl and mash

Step 8

spread mashed avocado to toast sprinkle a dash of salt (Optional)

Step 9

add sliced strawberries

Step 10

top with teaspoon of honey
