Instructions
Step 1
In a large Dutch oven, brown the ground beef and sausage

Add the onion and garlic and sauté until onion is tender
Step 3
Add diced tomatoes (undrained)
Step 4
Add kidney beans (drained)
Step 5
Add tomato juice to just cover the solid ingredients
Step 6
Add about half of the chili powder, it will get stronger as it simmers, so we'll add to taste later
Step 7
Heat the chili to boiling, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 1 hour
While simmering
Step 8
Taste test every ~15 minutes, adding chili powder as needed to taste
At meal time
Step 9
Serve over Fritos and sprinkle with cheese
