Instructions
Step 1
Beef and water in a large pot and cook while preparing vegetables.
Step 2
After the beef starts to boil, add all vegetables, seasonings (except parsley), and barley. return to a boil.
Step 3
Reduce heat and boil gently for 2 or so hours.
Step 4
Juices can be thickened with about 2 to 3 Tbs of flour combined with a little water. Add the paste to the stew . Stir well.
Step 5
Just before serving, add the parsley
