I love Stromboli, used to have it at school and will order it from Simple Simon's as much as I can. I tried to find a recipe that was like the ones I love, but couldn't do I made my own. It doesn't have red sauce, but the alpine sauce that is in the ones at Simple Simon's. Let me know what you think!

Making the Stromboli
Step 2
Preheat oven to temperature on the crescent rolls package.
OvenPreheat
Step 3
Use the flour and lightly dust the area where you are going to put the crust. (I used a wooden cutting board). Lay the crescent roll sheet on the floured surface and spread a little flour on either side to make sure it doesn't stick.

Step 4
Take the Alpine sauce and brush it on the crust, not a whole lot or the crust will fall apart. Then layer with the toppings you want. I went sauce, mozzarella cheese, onions, bell peppers, olives, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, mozzarella, then more sauce.

Step 5
Take the edges of the crust sheet and fold in til it makes what looks like a burrito. (I folded the left side into the middle, then the right side into the middle, then took the top and folded it towards the bottom, folded the bottom up over the top ( tuck the corners like a present as you do the top and bottom)
Step 6
Put the Stromboli, seam side down on a foil covered baking sheet. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on the top. Let bake til lightly golden, brush Alpine sauce on top (liberally) and more Italian seasoning. Finish baking til golden brown.
Step 7
Pull out of the oven and use a pizza cutter to slice if a whole Stromboli. (You can use the actual crescent rolls to make individual Stromboli, just put one down then add the toppings, put another on top and fold into each other.) I served with salad.
