Instructions

Step 1
Blitz all the marinade ingredients with a good pinch of sea salt and lots of ground black pepper in a food processor to make a paste. Alternatively, grate the onion, crush the garlic and finely chop the chilli before mixing with the remaining ingredients. (Wash your hands well after handling the chilli.) Place the marinade in a large bowl.
Step 2
Chop some tempeh, tofu, or vegetable into fillet sized pieces and score through with a knife.
Step 3
Cover with the marinade, pushing it into the scores. Leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Step 4
Cook in the oven or on a barbecue.
Step 5
Serve with lime wedges for squeezing over.
