Instructions

Step 1
Wash the lentils in two changes of water (no need to soak) and blend the tomatoes until smooth.
Step 2
Bring the lentils and spices to the boil, then simmer for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Heat oil in a pan, and fry the ginger, garlic and cumin seeds until medium brown then add to lentils.
